Korona took sole charge, and took Blitzkrieg 2 for an immense overhaul, culminating in June 2009 with the epic Release 3. Release 2.6 was meant as a prelude to Release 3, but still featured new missions, new vehicles, the fearsome V2 and a novelty in the Sage Engine: drawn artillery. Korona and Phoib then took over, and released R2.6 in September 2006. Featuring a lot of missing art, Release 2.5 also saw the incorporation of the The Finest Hour team, adding tons of excellent art to the mod. However, this did not mean the end of the project, as Biohazard quickly took over and released an immense overhaul in June 2005: Release 2.5. Smurf Bizkit then switched teams, and went on to produce Blitzkrieg 3: Fortress Europe. Release 2 featured airplanes, superweapons and a 5 mission German campaign, and was released on 9 June 2004. It had it's initial release in November 2003, featuring just land vehicles and soldiers, and was then continued on the Generals expansion Zero Hour.
